Fred's Hernia Surgery

A while back, we discovered Fred had a hernia. He called it his Sclorch. From the time he was told he had one until the time he got it fixed, he would wear a hernia belt to keep it in. He called it his Sclorch Belt. I called it his Hern Panties. We're so cool.

This was Fred's first ever surgery & first time going under anesthesia. We were nervous but knew everything would be fine. We got his life insurance in place beforehand just to be sure. LOL! I dropped him off at the hospital & his surgery ended up getting pushed back hours & hours. The surgery itself was a few hours. I had to go to a Band Meeting for Asher to thankfully Ethan was able to pick him up when he was done.

He had a few days of resting & then it was slowly getting back on his feet & back to normal. The doctor said he healed quicker than most which was great. He's so happy it's fixed. He doesn't know how it happened but probably something that slowly happened over time. Most men get them at least once in their lives. So now Fred's officially a pro at having surgery. Goodbye Sclorch/Hern! You will not be missed!

OC Fair

We went to the OC Fair! This is a yearly tradition for us since the kids were tiny, living in OC. We love going and the traditions we have there like going to the Butterfly Room, walking through the farm & gardens, looking at the livestock, and trying treats. We stopped at Baja Fish Tacos beforehand (DUH) for some lunch. This is the latest we've stayed at the Fair before and it's so pretty lit up at night. It's a whole different vibe! Caleb tried Dr. Pepper mixed with pickle juice and it was disgusting. Dad tried a fried Twinkie, Ethan had fried cookie dough and Asher had fried ice cream. Macie had a regular ice cream and most of us had giant corn dogs. It was a day with perfect weather too! We also managed to find 4 foot massagers together to get our classic picture with the kids each sitting on one. Just took us a while to find all 4 together ha! We love going to the Fair and glad we could fit it in this summer! I hope we continue this traditions as long as we can!

Dad & Ethan Go To NASCAR

One really cool perk with Dad's job is the fact that they have a Freeway racing car & they sponsor Daniel Suarez. Because of this, Fred was able to get tickets to a race that was in Northern CA which included back stage passes, meeting Daniel, go on the track, sitting in box seats, sit in cars, lunch... the whole package. You have to be 18+ to go because it's so dangerous with how loud the event is so Fred took Ethan. The rest of us had Dolphins Champs & Awards Night. Fred & Ethan stayed for some of Champs and then did the road trip of 5 hours up CA to the race. They stayed the night, watched the race the next day & then drove home. They said it was so much fun & really cool. They also said it was one of the best sporting events they've ever seen. Daniel was very nice & signed some things for them as well as took pictures. Ethan also got to drive Fred's truck in the middle of no mans land which he enjoyed & gave Fred a break from driving.

We missed them at Champs but I'm glad they got to go to such a fun event! Caleb wants Fred to take him when he's 18 too. Maybe I'll get to go one day as well. There are only a few races that are near us within the racing season so we'll see.
