Asher turns 2!

March 4th Ashie turned 2. I love him at this age. He's so funny and really starting to talk up a storm. He copies anything you say but he says our names the most. During dinner, he'll just point to each of us and say our names.

Here's a summary of Asher at 2 years old:

-He says: Daddy, Mama, E (for Ethan) and Wooie (for Caleb)
-He waves and says Hi and Bye
-He loves his blankie and teddy bear. He calls him Beau. He loves his little owl too. His name is Owlie.
-He loves Thomas the Tank Engine. He drinks from a Thomas sippy cup and says 'Ta!' for Thomas and he watches it all the time..
-He loves when we blow on his feet after he takes his shoes and socks off.
-Some of his favorite words are: car, rock, door, no, chair, Beau, duck, dog, bird, tree, dirt, show (meaning I want to watch a show, turn on the tv), prayer, water, milk.
-He copies facial expressions and it's hilarious.
-He will give you a dirty look if you tell him something he doesn't want to hear or sometimes just because. It's hilarious.
-His nicknames are: Ashie Baby, Ashie, Gerbal, Sherbal, Sherballie, Sherbs, Gerballie, Ash,
Sweet-Sweet.
- He folds his arms during prayers and will say prayer. It's precious.
-He's starting to sing in Nursery and loves 'The Itsy Bitsy Spider'
-Can kinda say Jesus but points to him in pictures and tries really hard to say his name.
-Gives the best hugs and kisses and knows what they are when you ask for one.
-He's really into throwing and hitting. Not something I like- at all.
-Doesn't like sharing. Hides when he has something he knows others want. Usually food and he's hiding from his brothers.
-Goes to bed at 8pm. When I'm home, he will take a nap. Usually 2+ hours. It's nice.
-Loves to wrestle with his Daddy.
-Let's us brush his teeth and comb his hair. He knows what to do (sit still) and what we're doing.
-Still can't say his name. When I say his nicknames I have for him he tells me 'no'. I don't care, I say them anyway.
-Loves when you rock and hold him right before bed. If you do, he doesn't cry when he goes to bed.

He is such a sweet boy and I love him so much. I'm so thankful for my Ashie Baby. He is so fun and it's so exciting to watch him grow and learn.

So, now let's talk about what we did for his birthday. His birthday celebration was kinda a bust.Since it was on a Monday, we decided to celebrate on Saturday. We had planned on going to Sea World and getting passes. But on the drive down, I was telling Fred how our friend took her son to Legoland and he loved it more than Sea World blah blah blah. So, we decided to do Legoland instead. Well, it was alright. Once you got past the fact that everything is made from Lego's. Asher was able to ride ONE ride the whole day. Everything else he was too little for. And Fred and I had to take turns with the boys because both Caleb and Ethan needed an adult to ride practically every ride. It was ridiculous the rules they had for rides. It was not worth the cost. So, for Asher's birthday celebration, he rode one ride at Legoland. We opted out on getting passes. I wished we had just gone to Sea World- as planned. Oh well.

Then Monday came (his actual birthday) and everything was normal throughout the day. Did laundry, some errands, etc. Then at 5 when I was about to start dinner, Fred called and said he locked his keys in the car so I had to go get him. So, no proper dinner was made and I didn't have time to make a cake which is kinda my thing to do for the kids birthdays. On the way home, we bought store bought Thomas cupcakes and he had those. I felt horrible he didn't have a proper cake. Mostly because that's kinda part of my gift to them and he didn't get one. After a meal of Mac N Cheese, he opened his presents. He got tons of Thomas trains from my parents along with shoes which he needed. Thanks Mom and Dad! He also got money from Fred's parents. Thank you guys!

So, that was Asher's birthday. Didn't go as planned but that's what it is. We love him and that's the most important thing. Next year I'll make him a stellar cake and we'll do something that is something he'll love. :)
