So, the boys made some wish lists. It all started from an incident with Ethan. He slept over at his friend house. Mikey has lots of toys and some he doesn't even play with. While Mikey's mom was helping to pack up Ethan's stuff, Ethan got very defensive and grabbed the bag away and said he would do it. Of course this is unlike Ethan so when he went upstairs to get the rest of his things, Mikey's mom looked in Ethan's bag and there at the bottom was some of Mikey's toys that Ethan intended to take back home.
Mikey's mom asked Mikey if he gave Ethan some of his toys and Mikey said no. So, she took the toys out, unknowingly to Ethan and brought him home. When she told me all this, I was so embarrassed. I thought, 'where did I go wrong?', 'why would he do such a thing?'. We talked about it and he knew it was wrong. His logic was, Mikey didn't play with them so he should have them since he would. Fred had to remind me that he's just a boy, learning about his surroundings, testing some limits and just learning.
Anyway, after a few talks, he said that how would people know what he wanted when it came time for him to get gifts to ensure that he'll get something he really wants. Then there was the suggestion of a wish list. So, while I was out shopping, Fred made wish lists with the boys. After I came home and saw the pictures, I couldn't help but laugh and smile. They were adorable. Fred would be able to interpret what's on Caleb's but it's basically what Ethan said he wanted. ;)
Ethan's 'wishellist':
1. Angry Bird Toys
2. Picture of Jake and the Neverland Pirates
3. How to Train Your Dragon Toys
4. A picture of Megamind (he wants the movie)
Another thing we've tried to encourage that Ethan's been adamant about wanting to do is earn money to buy toys. So, we've been having him do book reports. He has to read the book the answer questions about the book. Author, summary, characters, what he learned from the book etc. It's been great. Caleb was a little disappointed he couldn't do a book report but we said once he's in Kindergarten he can. :)
