My kids went to Nana and Papa's over the weekend at the end of September. I met up with my dad half way for him to take them. The next day, Fred and I went to Greg's 'Celebration of Life' memorial. It was beautiful. Fred sang with Greg's dad, Gary, 2 of Greg's favorite songs. Tears were shed, laughter filled the room and we just celebrated Greg.
I think it helped to have it a year later. Everyone has had time to process his death and had time to heal. We spent the afternoon with all of Fred's friends and sort of went on a big group date. It was fun. That night we went out to dinner. The next day my parents came with us to church and brought the kids home. They love going to their house and Asher had lots of fun. He's never done a weekend there before.
