Today, my baby turned 3. I'm sad about it. My youngest is no longer a little baby. And not knowing yet if we will have more, this could be it for me! Where has the time gone?! And why does it feel ages ago and yet went by so quickly?
Since we will be celebrating his birthday with family at Chuck E Cheese on Saturday, we didn't do anything big today. He asked to go to the gym and they sang to him and made him a birthday crown. Then we went to Ross and I shopped a bit and bought him his own special motorcycle toy just because. He loved it and we had fun there. Then he slept in the car, we picked up brothers, went to karate and then I got the kids Happy Meals in honor of Ashie's day since that was his meal request.
He was in underwear all day today and only had one accident. He had woken up from his nap abruptly and I tried to take him potty once he woke but he was still too groggy and tired to go. Then about 5 minutes later, while playing on my phone, he had a panicked look on his face and I tried to rush him to the potty but he didn't make it. Other than that- no accidents!!! Also, the past 2 nights, he has stayed dry the whole night! It was like he just decided he was fully ready to commit- or maybe it's the other way around. Probably. But I'm very hopeful and it looks like he's really getting it. Oh, and did I mention I JUST bought a whole box of Pull-Ups? And already opened them and threw away the box? Well, I did.
Here is a summary of Asher at 3 years old:

We love Asher and could never imagine life without him. I'm so blessed to have such a sweet, loving and gentle hearted boy. I love him more than he'll ever know and he brings such joy to my life. He is my little buddy and it breaks my heart to even think I won't have him be my hang out buddy for much longer. I don't want him to start school. I want him to stay little- just like my other boys. But with each passing day, even though some days he drives me nuts, I look at him and my heart gets so full of love.
Today while driving, and listening to Tarzan's 'You'll be in my Heart', I looked back and said, "Happy Birthday, Asher! I love you!" and he smiled and whispered back, "I love you, Mommy." I thanked my Heavenly Father right then and there for moments like these and blessing me with the ability to have children and be a mom. I think he had a good birthday and I certainly enjoyed celebrating with my little buddy.
I love you my sweet Ashie.
