1st Day of School

On September 4th, Caleb started 1st grade and Ethan started 2nd grade. I can't believe it. Ethan has Mrs. Rucker. From all 3 2nd grade classes, she, from what I hear, is the most balanced of strict and loving. I was very pleased he got her. She already seems so organized and on top of her class and the troublemakers. One of Ethan's best friends, Jack, is in his class so he was very happy about that. They even sit near each other. He's already earned a purple ticket which is, I guess, really outstanding. Mrs. Rucker notified me and said he's such a good boy. I was very proud. He's loving his class thus far.

Caleb has a team teacher combo. Mrs. Brooks teaches Monday and Tuesday and Mrs. Regan teaches the other 3 days. His class theme is the woodlands. He is happy to be with some of his friends like the 2 Colton's and Caleb K. He says girls chase him around at lunch and they say they like him. And I'm sure Caleb loves the attention. His says both teachers are nice and kind. He sits next to a girl named Caden. He made a calendar the other day and most of his numbers were backwards and totally flipped. Like 20 was 02 with the 2 being backwards so I think he has regressed a bit. At the end of the year his writing and numbers were great (we worked really hard on them). I've tried to have him do his 100 worksheet, where we writes to 100, but I think the all day school has been a hard adjustment. I think I'll wait until he's adapted a bit more. He's really tired after school and can get whiny and cranky. I have to remember he's the youngest in his class and he just turned 6.

Overall, I think this school year is going to be great. I look forward to back to school night to get to know the class systems a little better. Our first day was so fun and they were excited. The first day is always so exciting. Daddy even came with us!
