Happy 6 Months, Macie!

Macie turned 6 months. How can that be possible? How is it that she is half way to one? This is the fastest it has gone with any of the kids. I say it's due to the fact that the bigger kids have school, sports and piano and before I know it, the week has gone by and now in this case, 6 months! It's crazy that it has been 6 months! I feel like she's been around forever (in a good way) but at the same time, we just had her!

Macie had her 6 month doctor appointment on the day she turned 6 months. She also got her ears pierced. There was a lot of controversy behind that choice. A lot of people felt that I shouldn't do it because it's her body and she needs to make that choice etc. I figure if she doesn't want them in later on in life, she can just take them out and they will close up. But what girl wouldn't want earrings? Fred didn't think it was a big deal and really left it up to me and so I decided I wanted it done. But I also had great reasoning behind it. Right now she won't touch them and infect them. She doesn't have long hair that can get in the way. She's not scared or freaked out about getting them because she has no idea what's even happening and by the time she does, they will be healed and she can pick out different ones and it'll be fun! So, I made the choice to get her ears pierced. The nurse put a numbing cream on for a good 30 minutes. Then the doctor let me mark where I wanted them to go. Then the doctor, Fred and I held her down and still. She was more mad about being held down than anything. The actual piercing part she cried for but right when the doctor finished, Fred held her and she stopped crying after a few minutes and was fine. She got 14K gold studs. They're very pretty and feminine. It was all so fast. Even though I knew I wanted to get them done, I felt second guessing myself and if I was wrong for doing this but I knew that was just peoples opinions getting to me and swaying my choice. I realize now how it's not a big deal and it was all in my head. I'm glad we did it. She looks so pretty and it's adorable. When she's older we can get matching earrings!

So, here are Macie's stats at 6 months:
