We got a puppy...again! This past weekend, we went to the Irvine Pet Faire. It's an event that happens once a year. We went to just check it out. We ended up finding a puppy named Chia who was 3 months old. They told us she was a German Shepard mix but she doesn't look very German Shepard to me. The boys (and I) fell in love with her. We are currently potty training. It's going pretty well. She is getting better about going outside and not in her crate. She is either in her crate, in our laps, or going potty or playing outside. I'm hoping she'll be potty trained in a few months. She nips and Macie doesn't like that. She's kinda scared of her. She is a great eater, loves to play but sleeps a lot too because she's so small. She's microchipped, spayed, and had 2/4 vaccinations. She'll have the other 2 done this month. We made her crate small and eliminated potty pads so she will not go in her crate because if she does, she'll have to sit in it and I don't want puppy pads as a crutch.
She is very cuddly and loves to be with people. She doesn't like being alone. We take her potty outside every few hours at night which has been tiring but needed. The first night was really rough and she whined a lot. Now when we put her in the crate at night, she whined just for a few minutes then stops. We've been praying she is and stays healthy. She got a name tag and has treats and toys. The boys have a hard time watching her the whole time she's out so if I'm busy, she tends to just be in her crate.
Picking up poop is disgusting but it's mandatory. She poops about 3x a day. Overall, we love our new addition! She is so fun and sweet. We decided on Ginger as her name but it just didn't feel right. Then the boys asked if we could use the name Buttercup since we didn't get much time with our first Buttercup. After that, she just became Buttercup. She's our redo dog. haha.
