This Christmas Eve we had decided we couldn't go anywhere since we got a puppy. But when Christmas Eve actually came, the kids were pretty bummed we were't doing anything or seeing family. Fred and I talked about it and decided we would try to make it work and take the dog. Since we didn't tell any other family we were coming, we just kept it low key since we wouldn't have time to visit everyone.
It was a little difficult taking Buttercup, especially since she pooped in her crate while we were at the Everts' but overall it was okay and worth the drive. It was nice to be with family and do a white elephant gift exchange. The kids had a lot of fun being with their cousins. We got home pretty late, like always, but luckily we were ahead of the game and presents were already done and wrapped. We also made cookies earlier so that was all done too. It was a nice and fun Christmas Eve! It always is at the Everts house with everyone (local) there. We sang, we laughed, we joked and ate way too much.
