We went to our Ward Trunk or Treat and had a great time! Everyone loved our costumes! We went as The Wizard of Oz. I was Glinda, Fred was the Wizard, Macie was Dorothy, Ethan was the Scarecrow, Caleb was the Tin Man and Asher was the Cowardly Lion. I made my crown, wand and added the tulle to my clothes, I made Caleb's heart and shoes, I added fabric pieces to Ethan's clothes and added the raffia, for Asher I made his shirt and tail. I bought everything else at either Goodwill or online.
It took a while to make it all but I'm so happy how it all turned out. The Trunk or Treat had a costume contest and we won Best Group Costume. The kids were so excited!! They got tons of candy too. Macie was really tired and really ready for bed so she was extra cuddly that night which of course Daddy loved. I'm so glad the boys were on board with doing the costumes with me. I showed them the movie and they liked it and reinforced how cool it would be and how much everyone would love them and then winning the award was like icing on cake.
