Macie's First ER Visit

The other night, Macie woke up crying and was having a hard time breathing. Her cough sounded like a dog bark. She would start hacking and then couldn't catch her breath. She also had a fever. Fred and I didn't feel comfortable leaving her like this and so we decided she needed to go to the ER. I also was worried it was the flu and this year, flu season has been deadly so I didn't want to take any chances. I was with her at the ER from 11:30pm-3:30am. It was a long night. She was miserable. Her fever kept rising too. They gave her steroids to open her airways, Motrin for her fever and kept her on a breathing treatment the whole time we were there. It was so heartbreaking as her Mama to watch her suffer and be so miserable. The rest of the night, once we got home, she slept which was great. The next day she was fussy, tired and cried constantly. That next night she was up for a few hours with Fred. The next day was the same fussiness and constant crying/whining. But FINALLY, last night she slept through the whole night and today she's been much better and happier. She sounds bad but she can breath and isn't having trouble at night anymore. I'm glad she's on the mend.

I am sick too and Fred started to get sick the other day. We've had a few days of pretty much doing nothing. Hopefully this will all pass soon and I can get back to my routine. Tomorrow I'm planning to hit the gym again. I can't let anymore time pass where I'm not going. Anyway, here's a few pictures of Macie and I at the ER. I'm glad she didn't have to go back. I'm also glad we have insurance.
