These photos aren't in order but that's okay. This years Camp on the Tramp was a bit different than usual. Nama and Bampa didn't come since they are on their mission. But, we did have Jake, Jesse and Jesse come for the first time! We loved having them!
The first day we went to Baja Fish Tacos for lunch then went grocery shopping. I was in charge of dinner and made Hobo dinner packets. It took quite a while to prepare but ended up being really yummy. We ended with pie and ice cream.
The next day, Jake and Jesse made a traditional Mexican Breakfast. Asher got stung by a bee and Fred took him to the ER. After he calmed down a bit, he was ok and they ended up leaving without being seen. The rest of the day(s) Asher wasn't his usual self but he also had a double ear infection. His hand stayed swollen pretty much the whole time. Friday we hung around in the backyard and that afternoon went for a hike.
After dinner, Rylee 'forgot' her dessert items and asked me to take her back to Walmart. I didn't think much of it. She told me Trevor wanted her to go to Walmart because Ralphs was too expensive and she didn't remember the way and that was why she was asking me to take her.
While we were shopping, everyone else was busy decorating and getting dressed for my surprise birthday party. Fred had planned a surprise party around the idea that 16x2=32 so it was my Double Sweet 16. He is so clever and creative. He had asked everyone to dress up and they did! Such troopers to go along with his idea! We had a dance party to songs from 2002 since thats the year I turned 16. For my birthday, Julie and her family got me some pretty flowers. Fred and the kids went shopping and Macie gave me Peanut M & M's, Ethan got me a blanket, Asher got me a mug and Caleb got me earrings. Fred got me tickets to go see Justin Timberlake in November. It went along with the whole turning double 16 since NSYNC was popular back then and I still like Justin Timberlake. I felt so spoiled and loved and I was completely surprised! Friday night, Jesse came from Las Vegas and was able to come for the party too!
Saturday we walked to the donut store and after we went to the lake. I took Caleb out on a kayak and other did paddle boarding and kayaking too. It was a lot of fun but a long and tiring day out in the sun. I made the mistake of not putting sunscreen on my face and mouth and am now paying the consequences. I forgot and I will never forget to again! Blisters, cold sores, bright red face and peeling face skin is NOT fun.
Sunday we made breakfast, played some games and packed up.
I'm so glad so many people came this year! We sure did miss Nama and Bampa but it was still really fun. I'm glad we have this tradition and maybe even more people can come next year!
