These posts may seem out of order or that I'm missing some huge chunk of info. The latter is true. I haven't been blogging about our home buying process but for the whole Summer of 2019, we have been house hunting. I will go in detail about all that soon but for now, I'm focusing on events that happened while we moved.
We were now out of our rental and living with my parents for a week while we were waiting to get our new keys. About the 3rd day in living at my parents house, Macie wanted to join Daddy and the boys on a walk for Buttercup. She put her sandals on and was walking down the stairs. I was in the family room. All of a sudden I hear a HUGE scream from Macie. Not just 'I got hurt and now I'm crying' type of cry but 'I am seriously injured' kind of cry.
Fred said she tripped on her sandals and fell down the stairs and as she fell, she hit the side of the stairwell. I held her tightly and after she cried for a long time, she went into twilight sleep, waking every so often and whimpering in pain. I knew something got seriously damaged.
After Fred came back home, he took her to the hospital. BTW- this was also on Nana's birthday. In the meantime, all my family was coming over for food and cake for Nana's birthday. I finally got word from Fred that Macie had a hairline fracture in her collarbone. It wasn't in the same place as before which was good and it also wasn't a clean break which is also good. She had to wear a sling for a few weeks which was very annoying.
The hospital told us to check with our pediatrician after a few weeks which I did and he did nothing but tell me I had to see a pediatric ophthalmologist. I then called that new doctor to make an appointment but was on hold the whole time so I hung up. By this time, she wasn't even wearing her sling anymore and wasn't complaining so I didn't make an appt. It's been a few weeks now and she seems fine.
These pictures are the order on how she felt at the hospital. The first one is her in a lot of pain and very sad. The second is after she got her pain medication and starting to feel good. The third is her feeling REALLY good and happy again and the drugs are all up in her system.
