After waiting for months as Covid has been happening, we felt comfortable enough to continue on our work for our living room. The first picture is what the wall looked like.
We ended up sanding the wood beam, installing shiplap and painting the shiplap. It's very subtle but adds a lot to the room. It made me anxious because I don't do well with change but I'm getting better with it. We did the shiplap a very white white so even though the shiplap is stable, it pops. We still need to put something over the side entry table, change out the fireplace mantle and build up the hearth but we'll do that later. We may or may not add some trimming to the wall above the wood beam. We'll see.
Now we're going to focus our attention on the family room which is in dire need of work. I'm eager to get that room going!! But it was nice to move forward with home projects even though we're still in the middle of Covid.
