Washington DC

I was able to join Fred for the Best of the Best. This year, it was in Washington DC. We had such a fun time! It was awesome and so cool to see so much history.

We had a tour of the White House which was just amazing. We had to submit our social security numbers weeks and weeks before hand and then go through 6 different security check points before we were able to go in. After that we went to the Lincoln Memorial, saw the Washington Monument, saw Jefferson Memorial, Arlington Cemetery (with the tomb of the unknown soilder), Museum of Natural History, Mt. Vernon (George Washington's home), The Capitol (and took a full tour of it), and the home where Lincoln died which is across the street from the theatre he was in when he got shot. We fit in A LOT over the course of 4 days.

It was one of my most favorite vacations I've taken with Fred even though it was for work and we had work obligations. We dined with the chiefs and executives and I would be lying if I said it didn't make me feel important and special. We had cocktail nights, awards night and such good food.

The East Coast is full of such rich Americana history! I definitely want to take the kids!
