OOI Dolphins🐬vs. OO2 Sharks🦈
Sharks win! 🦈
We were up against very fast swimmers. Asher & Macie didn’t win any of their races BUT all my kids swam hard & did their best so I’m proud regardless!
I got a little emotional seeing Ethan race today because he was up against kids who not only have been swimming since they were tiny little things, they also recently qualified for CIF championship for swim AND do club swim. So, that being said, he already knew he’d lose every race today. Despite all that, he was pretty freaking close to them during their races and he’s only been swimming since 2021! He pushed so hard!! He raced against one of his best buds and seeing them hug and shake hands after was so sweet. We sure love our Shark friends.
Ethan also played The National Anthem on his cello. It was a last minute thing and he taught to himself last night at 8pm! 🤪 He did great. 🇺🇸
Caleb got a late start in his relay and still was able to manage passing up the other swimmers which was amazing. He’s so fast with his freestyle!
Asher & Macie didn’t win anything today but the fact that they push themselves to do these hard strokes against kids far faster than them is exciting to see as a parent. They don’t love swimming as much as Ethan and Caleb right now. Maybe that will come with time but I’m proud they’re doing something hard!
Macie was upset because she didn’t win her race. Her coach was sitting with her explaining that even though she didn’t win, she knocked time off her last race so she did better than she did last time! He gave her a hug, told her he was proud of her and she felt better. I mean….🥹
What a day! 🏊🏼♂️🏊🏼♂️🏊🏼♂️🏊🏻♀️
