Yosemite & Bass Lake

For this years trip, we went to Yosemite and Bass Lake again. Mostly because we were, again, so late on the planning. This year was different though because we asked Nama and Bampa to go with us.

We stayed at the most beautiful cabin and quickly learned this is the only way to go now with our family. The cabin had a creek that ran through it and listening to that water rushing by was heavenly. We each had our own space, were able to cook meals and not be on top of one another. It was really nice.

For our first full day, we went to the lake and did some boating, tubing, & wakeboarding. I was so proud of Caleb getting up on his 3rd try. He felt the pressure of getting up once his old man showed him up. Ethan tried and was unsuccessful. I didn't go because I'm too out of shape for that anymore and I knew I would probably hurt myself.

We went into Yosemite the next day and of course it did not disappoint. The beauty of that place is next level. The waterfalls were insane after having so much rain and snow. We first did The Mist Trail and the boys saw a bear! I was reminded how out of shape I am. Then we went over to Lower Yosemite Falls where the boys hiked to the top and got soaking wet. While it was stressful getting into the park and trying to snag parking, it was well worth the drive in. But we had to leave really early and even then, we barely got a spot.

The next day we did the SugarPine Railroad, panning for gold, played on the wave runners and played games at the cabin. The next day Nama and Bampa left and had to get home for church for the day after. I actually left not long after them since I wasn't feeling well and Fred lost his glasses in the lake so he couldn't really see. We were exhausted from the constant go, go, go from Dolphins and for being so busy for multiple days back to back.

This was the only time we could do this trip that wouldn't interupt with Dolphins and Ethan's band schedule which all practices were mandatory so while we had fun, we were so tired and ready to come home and do nothing.
