Asher needed to get Accelerated Reading points for school so I suggested Harry Potter. I told him we had them on audio and he could do what Ethan did and listen and follow along plus we now have the picture books 1-3 to read from. He said he'd try it...
Before I knew it, he had read through the first book in no time. He said following along with the audio made it really easy and fun and the pictures helped. He was reading through multiple chapters a day! He immediately started the 2nd book and just finished the 3rd book. He is asking the 4th and 5th picture books for Christmas so he can continue reading. He is obsessed and I couldn't be happier about it.
He decided to be Harry for Halloween too. I'm really proud of him for doing this. At first he said, isn't just following along with an audio and a picture book just cheating? I told him absolutely not! I think he was just intimidated by the size of the books.
He is very excited and eager to continue reading!!
