One college Ethan applied to was UCLA. While we haven't heard if he's been accepted or not, they did request an interview which is a very good sign! Fred & I drove down with him to be there for support and give him some coaching on the way. He went into the interview alone. He said that overall he felt it went really well. They asked him all sorts of questions. They played notes on a piano and he had to say how far apart the notes were, they played pieces of music and he had to say you wrote it, what time period it's from and type of movement it was. He also had to sing back tunes they played him. It was much harder than he anticipated. Either way, we are so proud of him. We told him that many people don't even get to this stage in the game. They only take 6 undergrads into their music program so the fact that they requested an interview shows they are very interested in him which is amazing!! Out of the thousands that apply! It was a great experience for him either way. So, now, we wait until we hear from them with their decision...
