Kirsten's First Tattoo

I've been wanting a tattoo for a long time now but didn't always know what I wanted. I knew I wanted something simple and fine line and in a place that wasn't so prominent, like my arm (at least for my first one). I wanted a good starter tattoo to test out the pain, how I felt with it etc.

Throughout 2024, I really started to think of it more and what I would want to get. I had a lot of things I wanted it to mean and eventually landed on a simple wave on my foot. Here's what the tattoo means to me:

1. Symbolizes change & the constant steady flow of change. Embracing each wave as it comes.

2. When I immerse myself in nature, particularly the beach, it puts everything in perspective & I feel more centered.

3. I have happy memories learning to surf with my dad growing up & memories of my own family at the beach & I wanted to capture that. Especially after our family trip to Kauai.

4. I'm 9th generation Californian so it celebrates that bloodline & heritage.

So, it just felt like the right choice. It's small and simple but I love it & exactly what I wanted.
