Crafting Crazy

Fred is out of town right now and one day as I was putting laundry away in our plain white, boring, ugly room, I thought, 'I sleep here! This is my own space! I am sick of staring at while walls!'

 

So... I painted and got crafty. I'm pretty impulsive and sometimes just get the urge to be creative and crafty. It's like a release or something. All afternoon until 2 am I painted and crafted. I was tired but I felt so good.

 

I wish I had a before photo of the whole room. It was so boring. But here is my afters:

 

My room and whole house was a disaster. Not the best idea to paint while the kids are up, and doing who knows what. Lesson learned. This tree I did free hand. I work best that way, I've discovered.

Wrote it out on paper, then with pencil on the wall. But the words weren't enough. It needed something more...

I was debating to add leaves or not. I decided it needed it.

 I'm glad I did. I actually think I should have made the leaves bigger but oh well.

I added braches and a few leaves. Much better.

 

These mirrors are from my sister. She got them from Ikea and gave them to me. I hated the color. It looked cheap and this weird orangy color. I used paint I had and painted them. Then I scuffed them up to make them look worn. I love them now. ps- there are 3 of them total and they now hang over my bed.

This is a pillow from our bedding. A couple buttons broke off while the boys were playing on my bed. I was sad but soon learned it was a great opprotunity to do something great! I grabbed some buttons I had and took the ugly brown ones off and redid the whole thing. I learned also that the brown buttons have a really pretty color on the other side! So I was able to reuse them, elewhere!

Pillow from our bed. The square thing is ugly. The other side it broke off so I used the brown buttons from the brown pillow and glued them on the other side of this pillow!

 

Ta-da! Much cuter!

 

Yay! It's not a whole lot of change but it looks so much better!
