Couponing

I'm now in my 3rd month of couponing. I've learned a lot and I'm glad I now do it. To me, now it's just a way of life. I get so much for so little. This last month I spent under $400 on groceries. And to think at one point our highest bill was about $550. My goal is to have it be $350 every month. I just have to be patient and build a stock pile. It's slowly coming along. Right now I have enough laundry items to not buy any more for about 3 months and I've spent less than what I normally spend on that kind of stuff.

I've also learned that just because it's in bulk doesn't mean it's the best price/deal there is. I used to buy SO much at Costco and now I just buy the essentials. Milk, cheese, eggs, lettuce and occasionally some fruit. Also, when the time comes, I get wipes and diapers. I know there are tons of coupons out there for diapers and wipes but right now I'm just trying to get good at the groceries/ toiletries part of it all. But there is so much at Costco you can get for so much less or free at other stores with coupons. You really just need to do the math.

I don't know if Fred fully appreciates all the work I do with couponing. Anytime I want to share a good deal I got he doesn't really care. He just cares about the final number and if we stay within budget. But I'm really proud of myself. I've gotten some amazing deals and even some cashiers are impressed. I'm thinking about starting to teach classes or do individual consultations. I'm no expert and I rely a lot on various sites but I can teach you how to get started. It's time consuming but once you get the hang of it, the faster the prep and everything is. It gets easier and easier.
