Oh my gosh. Christmas Eve was crazy. I decided I wanted a tradition with my family (parents mostly) that was just our family on Christmas Eve since Christmas Day my brother has this big dinner at their house with most of his wife's family and such. So I suggested we do breakfast, some activities then go see a movie with those that could and wanted to. So, I was up at 5am and we left the house at 7am. Already our car was packed with an ice chest with various juices and stuff for the in law's party later on, not to mention gifts, change of clothes etc. We had breakfast around 9:30 with all my family. Then we made gingerbread houses, decorated cookies and made snow globes. Then we opened presents.
Since my brothers kids are little, they didn't go to the movie and my sister's step kids already saw what we were going to see. So, it was just us and my parents. Asher did okay... We say Frozen which was really cute. Everyone loved it. We got out of the theater at 3pm. Then we went back to my parents, loaded our car with their gifts and then went to my in laws.
By the time we got there, I was so tired and had a massive headache. I just wanted to go home. But i took some pain meds and tried to deal with it. We left my in laws house at around 9pm. Caleb was melting down, he hated his new PJ's and I. was. done. Luckily, we had done all our prep the night before so we just put everything under the tree and went to bed around midnight. I hate how we live far on these kind of days. It just makes it hard. But overall the day was fun and non stop. The kids enjoyed every second (except Caleb with the last 30 minutes of the day).
I think next year I'm just going to have to offer money to help with the prep instead of bring stuff. We could barely shut the back car door...
These pictures are out of order but I really don't care to fix them, so I'll just walk you through them...
Cookies were laid out of course.
