A while ago, when the kids stayed the weekend with my parents, we went on a hike with our friends. Maybe I already posted about this... I don't even remember. Anyway, we did about 12 miles in 4 1/2 hours and we kicked butt. It was SO hard and I was really hurting and had to pop a couple (more like 4) Advil for pain because my legs were killing me. But I finished and I was so proud of myself. I'm down 7 lbs and still have 7 to go but I know I can do it. I can't wait to go on another hike like that! Gotta wait till we have no kids with us though. We had fun with Cami and Joe but we did miss Joe's boyfriend, Mike. :( Next time though!
Since we have become more active and want our family to be active, we took the kids on a very low key hike this past Saturday. Asher lasted about 2 hours and then was done. They were all CHAMPS! They loved it and they did so well. Next time we'll go another place but will definitely come back to this one one day. They loved the water and we even saw a coyote! It's amazing how many places there are to hike and see right near our house! The wildlife and nature around here is abound! We drove probably 10 minutes and then found our trail.
Then on Sunday, we went on a walk, right across the main road from our house. It was beautiful, sunny and perfect. We found a stream, saw ducks, lizards and the kids saw a frog. I know it probably sound like I'm just bragging about how great it is where we live but really, I can't help it! We pay so much money to live here but look what we get for it! I never knew OC had this much beauty! It's so pretty and there are trails all over and people are so active, it's wonderful. I hope we can all get bikes soon so we can ride at the beach or on trails or wherever! I'm so happy that we've become so active. Fred is also down about 15 lbs! Yay!! I can't believe it's taken us 2 years to finally go out an explore all that OC has to offer!
