The other day we went to the OC Fair. We've gone once before, in 2012. I don't know why we didn't go in 2013. Anyway, going to the fair was on our summer bucket list and we want to make it a tradition so we went with Fred in the early afternoon on Wednesday. If you go on a Wednesday, it's a 'we care' day and you donate an item for free admission and a free ride. This past Wednesday was cans of food. We paid for games, drinks and a fair food to try and of course it was so pricey. But it's the fair, so you can't expect anything different. It was so fun.
The older boys could go on bigger things which was fun for them and I rode with Asher on littler rides. They loved seeing the farm area with the animals and all the fruits and vegetables they grow right there on the fair grounds.
The best part for Fred and I this year was the butterfly room. You pay $1 per person to go into a room full of butterflies and you get a Q-tip you can dip in nectar for them to come drink and land on your hand. It was so cool and I have never done anything like it before. All of us loved it. We were in there a good 35 minutes just watching and trying to have butterflies come to us.
I love the fair and am glad we go. It's such a fun family memory to have. Can't wait until next year!
