On New Years Eve, all the boys attempted to stay up. Ethan was the only one who actually made it to midnight. Caleb fell asleep in our bed and Asher put himself to bed after he said, "Mom, I want to go to bed!" So I said, "Then go to your bed!" That was around 10:45pm. He almost made it. Caleb was out at 11:00pm. In the morning he was bummed he missed out on the pot and pan banging.
While we were up, waiting, Fred worked on the computer and the boys played Minecraft and walked in and out of my room while I watched my new movie from Christmas, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
We had some sparkling cider, yelled Happy New Year while we banged pots and pans in the freezing cold then went to bed. It was low key but fun.
For New Years Day, after lounging around all morning, around 2 pm we went to Disneyland. It was freezing cold and packed! We went on Jingle Cruise (Jungle Cruise decorated for the holiday) and Pirates. Then we went over to Marie Calendars to pick up pie for Ethan's birthday party the following day and to have dinner since it was 7pm. It was a really fun day to kick off the new year.
Fred and I have recommitted to getting in better shape and each of us has already lost a couple pounds. We're also committing ourselves to be more wise with our money and get our life headed where it needs to be in all the areas of our life. We had a good talk about it all the other day and I'm just so lucky to have him. He's my everything.
