President's Day Weekend

This past weekend, the boys had Friday and Monday off, which meant we got a 4 day weekend! The boys have been begging to go to my parents house and this weekend seemed like a great time since they had the 2 days off. I met up with my dad about 3:30pm at the Citadel Outlets. It's half way for each of us. He was on his way home from work which worked out but there was such heavy traffic it took him a long time to get there. After I left the boys with him, I met Fred at his work and we went out to dinner/dessert. We got sushi and it was nice and relaxing. The boys drove through China Town on the way home and they thought it was so cool.

The next day, Fred and I met up with Cami, Joe and Mike to go hike up to the Hollywood sign. It was really neat to do. I really loved it and feel like I totally checked something off my bucket list. It's a must do. So cool to see something so famous 20 feet away from you. There was amazing views the whole way. It took us a total of about 3 hours which wasn't bad at all. Afterwards we went out to lunch.

Later that day, we went to Baja Fish Tacos and we saw Imitation Game. It was an amazing movie.
Sunday, I taught RS and we did the whole church thing. Then we went to Dana Point and walked along the beach and enjoyed the sunset. Then we enjoyed some Filet Mignon and some bubbly. It was a great day.

Monday I met my parents at the Citadel at noon. We walked around for a bit and had some lunch. I was so happy to see my dudes. As fun as the weekend was, I missed them. They are my whole world so when they are gone, I feel a little lost! Ethan bought some new sunglasses and gave a pair to Caleb. Mostly to get him to stop crying because he didn't have any money to spend. But hey, it's the thought that counts.

My dad took pictures of them during their stay. They had so much fun and miss them already!

My dad called me saying he couldn't find Asher's pants and I told him I looked at our house and didn't have them and I for sure packed them. After church, they ended up finding them under the front seat in my dad's car. That's why Asher looks like that. I think it's hilarious.

I'm so glad my kids have such a close relationship with my parents. Also, that my parents love and want to take them for a few days here and there since they don't see them as much as they'd like. I hope even the boys get older, they will still love going to Nana & Papa's house. They have such a special bond with them and I hope they always will.
