Dad's Retirement Party

My dad retired on October 30th. Same day as my sister's birthday. It's still weird to think of my dad as retired. He has been looking forward to this day for quite some time and he certainly deserves it. It's just going to be an adjustment for our family. My mom and sister planned a surprise party for him for November 7th. Lots of his friends from work came and my dad was totally surprised. My grandpa who is now 87 even came. It was pretty cool to see my grandpa wishing my dad a happy retirement.

I'm very happy for my dad. Every time I now call my parents house, he's been answering and it's a little weird. I'm so used to my mom answering. He's been sending me pictures of himself bike riding and what he's doing every day. I can tell he's really happy and I'm so glad. I wrote him a heartfelt note and gave him some stamps to use so he can send us postcards from the traveling my parents plan on doing.

I was in charge of taking pictures of the party so here are some of my favorites. My dad is so talented, kind, hard working and all around awesome. It was nice to hear all of the kind words people had to say about him. I'm so proud to be his daughter.
