I can honestly say since Macie was born, 2 weeks ago, life has been a whirlwind and a blur. At her check up today, we found out she's now 6lbs 4oz (1oz over birth weight) and is 20 inches long (she was 18.5 at birth). She's a little jaundice but nothing serious. We just have to watch her color.
The boys have been nothing but gentle, kind, affectionate, helpful and loving towards her. It's been so amazing to see. There is no jealousy, sense of competition or fighting for our time. They've all been great. Asher is really helpful when it comes to diaper changes. Ethan has been helpful to grab things when we need them and Caleb loves to hold her and feed her.
We're formula feeding at night while I pump so she will poop out the jaundice, gain weight and as an added bonus- sleep longer in the night. She wakes up every 3-4 hours. Before it was every 2-3. So far, she has taken the bottle like a champ when offered, takes a pacifier but needs help keeping it in and has taken formula like it's no big deal. I'm very lucky in those ways. I'm nervous for when Fred has to go back to work but somehow I'll figure it out. For now, I'm enjoying the last few days I have with him around.
