Macie's First Flight

Fred, Macie and I went to Dallas, Texas for 3 days. We were thinking about moving there and I went to check it out while Fred had to go for work. Macie was SO good on the way there and back. She practically slept the whole time and when she woke I nursed her. However, the rest of the trip she was fussy and at times a little pill. It might have been the time change and the fact that we were in and out of the car all day long for 3 days but she wasn't liking it. I saw about 22 homes in 2 days and I was a little tired from the time change and the fact she didn't sleep well at night in the hotel.

We did however eat really good Tex-Mex and BBQ. It was so yummy. I also ate at 'Whataburger' which is like Texas's In-N-Out to Californians. It wasn't bad but didn't seem like anything special. I saw a few cowboys and they opened doors for me, called me 'mam, and were so polite. I also just had random people say hello to me...very different than CA! And everything IS bigger in Texas. My medium size drink was the size of an extra large!

I guess we went during the ugliest time of the year because it really was ugly. All the grass was dead and brown, it was cloudy and there were marshes, mud all over and it was SO cold! It rained, hailed and had sleet on the last day there. The homes were gorgeous and were all made of brick, stone and wood combined. By the time we were at the airport to come home, I was getting homesick and really looking forward to coming back to sun, palm trees and nice weather.

We decided after talking it over with his boss that we should stay here because he can grow within the company here and it'll be more beneficial for his career in the future. But you never know, maybe one day we will end up there.
