Asher turned 5 on March 4th. I'm still in shock about it. I can't believe he's that old now. On his actual birthday, he did the normal day stuff. He had preschool, lunch at home, waiting to pick up brothers and then went to piano. That evening we went to Ruby's Diner. He got a chocolate milkshake, Mac n Cheese and fries (his favorites). When he came home the opened his presents. He got Jessie, Bullseye and Rex from Toy Story. He's super into it right now. He got a new Buzz and Woody for Christmas. Now he has some much of the gang!
He took some cupcakes to preschool to share with his friends at snack time and he got a present from his friend Lucy who likes him. She's so cute around him. They have a little crush on each other.
The day before his birthday, I talked to him about making him his cake but he was very specific he did not want me to make his cake. He wanted a cake from the 'cupcake store' which really is just the "Nothing Bundt Cake" store. They have delicious cakes. So, being the sucker I am, I took him to pick one out. Luckily, he chose lemon. Such a good flavor. We had it decorated and that was that. He was so funny being so adamant about wanting a cake from there and me NOT making one. We finally got around eating it a few days after his actual birthday... which kinda turned the weekend into his birthday weekend.
On Saturday, we went to "Adventure City." It's a amusement park for 3-8 year olds. Asher loved it. Caleb really enjoyed it too. It was a little too old for Ethan. They had a couple bigger kid rides that Ethan enjoyed though. Asher went on everything. Even the bigger roller coasters that Caleb was scared to go on. Asher is such a brave boy! He had such a blast and has already asked when we can go back. It's like a poor man's Disneyland. A lot of ethnic and eccentric people there... But he had a great time.
He was embarrassed the whole day on his actual birthday because everyone kept saying Happy Birthday, singing to him and showing excitement. He acted like he hated the attention but in fact I know he really loved it. He is such a character. He is so sassy, independent, opinionated, and stubborn boy. But he is also so kind, gentle, and says the sweetest, kindest things to Fred and I. He always picks me flowers, almost daily in fact, and picks them for Macie too. He has such a big heart and loves Macie and I so much. He is always saying he wants to marry her and I.

Asher is such a bright light in our home. He's kind, funny, caring and always keeping us on our toes. He is such a big boy and can do so many big boy things from just watching his brothers do them. He is growing up way too fast. He loves being a big brother and we love having him as a part of our family. Heavenly Father knew I needed an Asher in my life to remind me to stay positive, be happy, laugh and remind me constantly that, as Asher would say, "the best mom in the whole entire world." I love you, Asher. I love being your mom and am so blessed to have you as my son. You're such a ball of energy! Happy 5th Birthday!!
