Christmas Kickoff

This year, we did Christmas Kickoff on the first weekend on December. Since the boys have school and activities, it's too hard to make it work if December 1st lands on a weekday. So, we did it Saturday. We did a fun, big breakfast then went to some stores. We decided not to do lights because it's a lot of money and we don't own our house. We'll do them when we have our own house and the proper things needed. We looked around Lowe's, Bath and Body Works and Target. Then we came home, and I made a bunch of snacks. We snacked and made a gingerbread house. Then we decorated and put up the tree. We also decided not to do a real tree. They're very expensive and we would need to make sure Macie didn't get into the water. So, a fake tree it was.

After decorating the house, we watched Home Alone and had hot cocoa. Then we read some Christmas books. The kids had a fun time. It was a long day but it was nice to have it all done, finally. I like doing this tradition. It makes it special and a big deal. Macie slept through the decorating but woke up in time for the movie.
