Our second full day we went to Muir Woods. It was rainy that morning so we were hoping we could still go and that the rain would stop. I guess luck was on our side because by the time we got there, it was beautiful and it stopped! Muir Woods has Redwood trees like we've seen before but they weren't as big as the others we've seen...HOWEVER, this forest was GORGEOUS! Muir Woods has to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been! It was so green! The smells, sounds, and textures were all so amazing. We ended up hiking for 3.5 hours since we went off on a different trail. We ended up turning around since it was getting quite hard and we still had no end in sight. We were losing everyone- fast. We were all tired and hungry so we decided to turn back. Even though we hiked for longer than expected, it was still such an amazing and fun day. This was Fred and the boys' favorite day. Macie did so well and she even took little naps here and there. We walked for a long time. We saw spiders, giant slugs, squirrels and all different kinds of mushrooms. The river was so pretty! We LOVED Muir Woods!!
