Vegas

Fred was invited to a trip to Vegas since the salesman of the company were having their yearly awards trip and he is VP of Sales Operations. He wasn't winning any award but since he's in sales, they said he was invited and could bring his wife if he'd like. Um... trip to Vegas?! YES, PLEASE!

This came right after Mother's Day which was nice since I needed a break away from home. Thankfully Fred's parents said they would watch the kids for us while we were away. We left Thursday morning from John Wayne Airport. Flying to Vegas is so much better than driving. We got into our hotel, ate some lunch and that night was the awards night. We watched everyone earn their awards, ate and socialized. They had a "Casino Night" where everyone got to play with fake money and learn some games offered in Vegas. Fred and I were not very interested in that so we opted to leave once that began and went to bed. It had been a long day.

Friday we got breakfast, walked the strip, gambled a little at the slot machines and then met at a Mexican restaurant for cocktail hour. After that, we all headed to the bus to take us to see Cirque De Soleil's The Beatles LOVE show. We love Cirque shows so we were both pretty excited about going to the show. Plus it was free! The show was really cool. Unlike any other Cirque show we've seen before. I kept thinking that my dad would love it. I knew pretty much every song which I was pretty proud of. My dad loves The Beatles and listened to them a lot when I was growing up.

After that, we gambled a bit more and went to bed. Saturday we got breakfast, hung around the Casino and then headed back to the airport. It was a super short trip but really fun to have some alone time with Fred.

The kids really enjoyed having Nama and Bampa with them. They went to Sonic (of course) and played a ton. I'm really glad they were able to come so Fred and I could have a little get-a-way!
