Christmas Day

Christmas started when Caleb came in our room at 6am. Shortly after, all the kids were up. As we always do, we read the story of the birth of the Savior in the scriptures and pray as a family before going out to open gifts. We talked about the true meaning of Christmas and thanked Heavenly Father for the greatest gift He has given us, which is the Savior.

After we did that, we all came out to see what Santa brought. Caleb had already sneaked a peak so we knew that he had brought iPad's for everyone! So it was quite the surprise for me to go out to the family room and see a gift for me up above our fireplace. He bought me this painting that I have been wanting for years. It is Santa kneeling before the Baby Jesus. I've dreamed of hanging it above my fireplace in a beautiful frame every Christmas season for such a long time. So, as I walked out with the family to start Christmas, I saw it and immediately burst into tears and turned to hug Fred as I cried. To me, this painting is just so beautiful. It's one of my favorites ever done of the Savior. I can't wait to get it framed today! I'm so happy to finally own it and be able to enjoy it every Christmas. Fred also got me an Apple Watch, Sephora make up brushes, a book, a Labyrinth game, a COACH perfume and lotion set and more! He spoils me rotten and spent WAY too much money on me.

Fred got new tools, a drone, Cirque de Soleil tickets, a shooting target stand, Hickory Farms meats, and shirt.

All the kids got iPads from Santa.
Macie loves her new doll with her stroller, a tea set table, and backpack.
Asher's favorite gifts were a remote control car and nerf gun.
Caleb's favorites were ripstick, Barnes and Noble gift card, and movies.
Ethan's favorite gifts were his new jacket, art supplies, new book and "all of my gifts!"

After we did presents, we finished around 8:30am, we went to breakfast at IHOP. We were all starving! Like usual, we ate pretty quickly. After that, Macie fell asleep and we took her to bed. Then the boys played with all their stuff while Fred and I napped too.

Luckily I got woken up by my brothers phone call around 1:45pm because I needed to make deviled eggs for Aunt Sue's house and we had to be there around 3ish! Everyone got up while I made eggs and we got ready. We were there at 4pm but it turned out to be okay. Our house was a MESS but we just had to leave it.

We spent the evening at Sue's eating, talking, singing and laughing. Everyone enjoyed watching Macie with her new doll and backpack. She pushed her new baby in the stroller all over the house. We got home really late and immediately went to bed. Finally we were able to clean up the house the next day. It was a long but fun and eventful day. It was one of our best Christmas's ever!
