We celebrated Asher's birthday a week before his actual birthday. We had a reptile company meet us at the park and showed us all kinds of reptiles, amphibians and insects. Everything was going really well and everyone was having a really fun time.
When there was about only 25 mins left of the 3 hour party, Asher got stung by a bee! Right on the side of his foot. Thankfully he didn't need his Epi Pen and just some Benadryl. After we ran home and grabbed the Benadryl, he was pretty much out for the rest of his party. He didn't even eat his donut after we sang to him, he fell asleep! We're just glad it happened at the end of the party. He was so sad that he got stung. So were we.
But the rest of the party was great. We had it on a Wednesday, when Asher and Caleb got out of school early. Ethan was still at school. The reptile presentation was 90 mins long and kids were free to get up and play if they felt the need to. It was a super low key but really fun party.
We had pizza, chips, donuts (instead of cake) and some fruit. Asher's favorite animal he saw was a giant Sulcata tortoise. His second favorite was a giant snake. Even the moms had fun! I am so glad that Fred was there with me to help keep the party going once Asher got stung. Overall, it was a great day! That same evening, when he was filling more up to it, he opened his presents.
