Fred was able to take off Spring Break to be with the kids and I. I'm SO happy he could! The boys were too. We decided to do a staycation and it was lots of fun. Over the first weekend, we did the lake and beach. Monday was a relaxing day, Tuesday was the Michael Buble concert, Wednesday- Thursday we went to San Diego and stayed in a hotel, Friday was lazer tag for the boys, Saturday was fishing for the boys at the lake. I was able to semi stay caught up on things while Fred did stuff with the boys. Sunday was church and Monday was Fred's birthday!! (I'll save that for a different post.)
I didn't take pictures at the lake or beach so up first for pictures is Sea World. Everyone's favorite was feeding the sea lions and watching the Shamu show. It was a great day. Sea World has a food option you can add to your ticket. It's a great option for bigger families and the kids loved getting so much food thourghout the day. That was really nice.
We got to our hotel and had a great late night swim which the kids loved. Then it was off to bed. The next day, we went to the San Diego Zoo. I really loved this day too but everyone else liked Sea World more. It wasn't as interactive and kind of a let down after Sea World. In hindsight, we should have done the Zoo first but you live and learn. Overall, it was still fun!
The kids passed out on the way home. It was a great trip. The kids also got stuffed animals for souvenirs! The love their new friends. I, on the other hand, think we do NOT need more stuffed animals in our house. Ha!
Side Note:
On our way to San Diego, we saw the San Diego Temple and pointed it out to the kids as we drove by. Macie got so excited and said, "That's my castle! I'm a princess there!" My heart just melted. I can only imagine that Heavenly Father heard Macie in that moment and smiled. I hope she always understands and knows her worth; a daughter of God. I told her, "Yes, my sweet girl, that one day can be your castle and you truly are a princess because you are HIS!"
I hope I never forget that moment.
Here are some photos from Lazer Tag and fishing. The boys said their 2nd favorite thing (other than Sea World) was going to Lazer Tag with Dad.
