Camp Papa for Asher

First day at ‘Camp Papa’!

Asher is very into woodworking & gardening. Two things my dad happens to be pretty skilled at. So, today was day one of many where Asher will learn from my Dad how to use different woodworking tools, create projects, and plant/grow food, flowers and plants. He was so excited to start and that Papa agreed to teach and work with him. I can’t wait to see all the things they’ll make!

2/28/12 Caleb and Mama snuggling on the couch

3/22/12 I'm making cheeseburgers and fries for dinner. Caleb comes walking into the kitchen.

Caleb- "Mama, I want buns, cheese, burger and fries. Nothing else, you got it?"

3/21/12 Mama comes home from a RS activity to find Daddy asleep on the couch with piles of blankets and stuffed animals on top of him while the kids are all watching TV at 9:30pm.

Caleb- "Daddy is asleep. I tucked him in. Jesus is happy with my choice."

2/28/12 Ethan walks in the office

Ethan- "Mom, my leg hurts. I sprayed it."

Mama- "You what?"

Ethan- "You know, when you break a bone or you spray it? I sprayed it right here (pointing to his knee)."

Mama- "Oh, okay. What happened?"

Ethan- "I just bonked it. But I'm fine now because I told you about it." Ethan walks out of room.

Mama- "Uh, okay..."

2/26/12

Mama- "Caleb what's your favorite ride at Disneyland?"

Caleb- "The Buzz Yighyear (he means Lightyear) ride where you shoot the canyon balls" (he means cannon balls).

12/28/11 Caleb coming into my bed in the morning.

Mama- "Caleb, what do you want to do today?"

Caleb- "Just love you."

Mama- "Okay, we can do that."

12/14/11 Kirsten in the office wrapping presents for Christmas and Caleb wants to come in.

Caleb- "To infinity and beyond!" Then runs into the locked door.

12/14/11 While sitting in the car

Ethan- "Mom, let's talk... Are you sad I'm growing up to be a big boy?"

Mama- "A little but only because I always want you to be my little linker doodle. But I'm mostly happy you're growing up to be such a great big boy."

Ethan- "Caleb, what's up with that hitting me?"

Mama- "Ethan, you really like music, huh? Do you think it would be fun to learn to play an instrument?"

Ethan- "Yeah!"

8/10/11 While Ethan is getting his nails cut.
Ethan is crying and sad Mama's cutting his nails.
Caleb- "It's okay, Effa, I here for you. I hold you."

8/9/11 Outside playing with Emma.
Ethan- "Ok, I'm going to go over here. Bye honey!"

6/12/11 Walking around Kohl's.
Lady over the intercom- "Customer service to shoes, customer service to shoes."
Caleb- "Yes, I like chicken nuggets and french fries."

5/27/11 Comes in the house with a stick and leaves attached.
Ethan- "Mom, this is a Hawkie Theater. It's a bird. They are impressive and dangerous. They pick up worms, snails and caterpillars. This is what they say, "HAWK, HAWK!"

5/16/11 Eating dinner. Noticing what the boys call(ed) cucumbers when they were 2 years old.
Ethan: "Cumacumers"
Caleb (he's 2 right now): "Kingcumers"

5/7/11 As Daddy takes Asher downstairs and we all head down for breakfast.

Mama- (joking around) "Okay, say bye to Baby Asher! Daddy's going to take him to work."

Ethan- "Bye!"

Caleb- "NO!!! (starts crying hysterically) No take my Baby Asher! No! Not my Baby Asher!!"

4/29/11 Ethan comes running in from playing outside.

Ethan- "Mama, look! I found this wonderful giant stick!"

4/22/11 Anytime Caleb gets into trouble
Caleb-" Mama, I get listen! I get listen!"

4/21/11 While watching the news it read Teluca Lake under the woman talking.
Fred- "Her name is Teluca Lake? That's a weird name. But say it fast, it just rolls off the tongue..."
Kirsten- "That's not her name, she's reporting from Teluca Lake; it's an actual place! Haha!"

4/15/11 Caleb trying to get my attention and talk to me in the car.
Caleb- "Mama, I talking for you."

4/14/11 While cutting Fred's hair, I wore 2 trash bags so I wouldn't get hair on me.
Ethan- "Mama, you're a bag. A real bag..."

3/22/11 Fred just coming home from the gym and flexing in the mirror.
Ethan- "Daddy, look! (flexes arm muscles too) I got these from the internet!"

3/14/11 Fred reading over his new diet plan
Fred- "One cup dried oats... wait, I have to eat oats, dried? I can't even cook them?!"
Kirsten- "Haha!! No... you have to make sure it's one cup then you cook them."

3/13/11 Eating lunch after church
Fred- "Ethan, what did you learn about in church today?"
Ethan- "I learned about the sword of truth"
Fred & Kirsten- "Wow! (while laughing) that's great!"

3/2/11 While cutting Caleb's hair

2/22/11 After putting our new love seat and 2 recliners in our family room (a gift from my parents)
